Hearts and bundles!

Yea! I have started some new work - I was inspired by that lovely cheque which dropped through my letterbox!
Today or should I say early this morning I recieved 12 roll (yes, 12!) of fabric that I won on ebay. Stipes, yum. I was so bleary eyed when the postman knocked on our door that it took me a while to realise that maybe if I put my goggles on then he and the bundles would have looked a bit clearer!
Poor postie, what a shock to see me in that state that early.

I was sooooo chuffed with my win, not sure what it will all turn into, but there will be a use I am sure. J came down this morning and was a bit shocked to see 12 rolls, he was expecting a small little package, ooops! He loves them anyhow - and commented on the fact that yes I do need a studio!

Boys will be boys!

Well, I was supposed to be the one who does a bit of work, but my boys have put me to shame. With a bit of sawing, hammering and slapping of paint - 'Hey Presto' its a? ............. Oh well, they loved it!

'let it snow let it snow'

'BERT'

WE HAVE SNOW!
We usually get it once a year now, but oh boy its so worth it. Of course we were out there early as we could, snapping a way and building Bert our snowman (who has of course a homegrown organic carrot).

Its come over all grey again and there has been rumours that it might snow tonight ..... oh fingers crossed
As for being hard at work, I have really hit a slump. I can not shift myself, but today I recieved a cheque for some brooches sold on a gifted in design website and they want more. I feel the urge coming back. What a boost!

WIP - Getting the house into shape!

I know Wip Friday should be crafty, but I am trying to be crafty with this excuse. We are determined to get the house sorted this year, so my work in progress is this - the 3 D's! De- clutter, decorate and take delight in the house! Last Fridays WIP was the purchase of this Hall chair. It is very old but perfect for its purpose. It has decluttered our hall from all the shoes we kept falling over, its decorated a very dreary narrow hall and I take great delight in looking at it every day! TA DA! 3 D's!

The painting in the above picture was done by my father when I was very little, I loved it so much that I managed to persuade him to let me have it. Looks great in the lounge!

Our Lounge is the next WIP (which has been on going for 4 years!) We have finally decorated it in a very tasteful stone chalky colour and at last we have both agreed on carpet! We have stripped floorboards through out the house but the lounge gets oh sooooo drafty and cold in the winter that carpet is the best solution. It is being fitted next week and I can't quite belive it. Next is to tackle the sofa (need to re cover) and a cabinet/cupboard to hide the monstrosity of a television! Keep you posted!
I will do some proper textile work soon.... promise!

New beginnings!

May a send you all belated Christmas greetings and a fantastic New Year!

Yet again I have been far too busy (christmas craft fair after fair!) to update you all on life here in England, but its been a very hectic and emotional few months.
I am glad that 2006 has ended on a very happy note as it was beginning to look like a very scary year.
Back in May I had a health scare which shook me up some what and made me re-evaluate my life, family and future. I am glad to say that as from last Thursday I am healthy and can look forward!

Well how has the New Year started out for you all?
On New Years day we enjoyed a hearty family walk in a place called Stammner Park - it is a huge park that has a lovely big house and farm in it as well as a cute row of old flint cottages, plus hills, glorious hills.
The boys loved running wild and trying out their new scooters!
J and I enjoyed the air, boys and each other. It was just what the doctor ordered, blowing the old cobwebs away and starting a fresh.

Happy New Year everyone and I promise to keep up with my blog!
P.S. The sloe gin we made in October was yummy!
