Scraps & Silly faces

Thanks to Plump Pudding I am going to fulfill (or I should say Samantha is going to ) one of my little ambitions. Samantha has kindly agreed to take some of my Corsages to the Country Living Spring Fair. I am so excited! Thankyou Samantha!
So hence a pile of corsages in the making which as always leads to a pile of scraps. So waste not want not, I have sewn all the scraps together rather than dump them in a bag.

These scrap panels turn out to look really pretty and its great fun putting them together (really quick as well). One day I will put all the panels together to create a big Crazy patchwork!

Have a good weekend!

* To fringe or not to fringe? .....

Well its done!
I had a voucher for a haircut last October from my lovely J and as usual left it and left it. I have to admit that I was nervous as it was at Lee Stafford, very intimidating looking place, but I discovered on Friday that he had sold the salon and now it was someone else. So I had a limited time to use my voucher ......and thought why not lets go wild! And a fringe it was! Im kinda liking it, the boys were a bit shocked!

Do you have a favourite mug - I have several, each one has its duty. My Penguin Agatha Christie is a daytime mug, a big Habitat china one is an early morning tea and this great little (and it is small) is my bed time mug. I LOVE CHARLIE AND LOLA! and this mug is perfect! It says on the back -"I am NOT sleepy and I will NOT go to bed"

Seeds have arrived!

Mmmm, just decided to collect wallpaper swatches! yum yum

I must be getting old..... or am I ?

Close up of girl, recycled sewn plastic.

Last saturday I visited the Internation Hobby & Craft show, and I will admit to feeling reluctant in going. In my mind I had an image of this kind of show being more entertaining for the slightly older lady. Ehhmm, sorry.
Well, as I turned up at the door I had to bustle my way through quite a few white haired craft crazy ladies followed by bedraggled bag laden husbands!
It was the perfect craft show if you were into scrapbooking & card making but sadly lacked sewing, knitting and basically crafty ideas that I like! It wasn't wasted though, on show they had knitted garden!

I really liked the radio and the texture of the grass.

The picnic was very tempting...... ooooh, anyone for a slice of Battenburg!

There were a few interesting tutorials, but nothing new. So come on girls lets shake of this old fuddy duddy crafting world and get in with the new exciting hobbies with the likes of Betz White, Plump Pudding and Tree Fall.

Artistic friends....

' Chalk Cliff ' by Chrissy Guest

A while ago August 2006, I wrote about my good friend Chissy and her excellent progress as an up and coming artist. She did very well in the Artatfive exhibition and now there is no stopping her. She has just got into another gallery in a local town, Lewes. The Chalk Gallery has a varied range of work and is run by a cooperative of just 21 Artists (chrissy now being one of them). Chrissy's work fits perfectly yet still being original.
To top it all she finally has her own blog showcasing her work, so please go and check it out and give her your support!
Well done Chrissy, yet again I am very proud of you and will always look up to you for your expert guidance and support.

Birthday Bag

It was a friends birthday last weekend and as probably one of my best clients (she is constantly buying my brooches!) I made her one of my special bags. She had admired the one I made for myself last year and had always said if she could afford it one day she would commision me to make her one. Well, what else could I given her as a pressie! So, from a pile of fabrics (above) a lovely patchwork bag with detachable corsage was made!

As she opened it slowly her face just showed how happy she was with it!

It was a fun evening and I ended up doing karioki (mmm, is that how you spell it?) which I confess to never having experienced, it was more of a game on the playstation which I think was was the appeal to me - and well, I didn't get home till 2am!

Must get back to some hearts and my new japanese brooches.....................
