COUGH cough - I need soup!

I have been rather poorly since Friday, so apologies for lack of enthusiasm.
Samantha @ Plump Pudding put on an excellent stand at the CL fair and it was brilliant to finally meet her. She is one inspirational lady and keep an eye on her, she's going to go far!

The fair was quite interesting, being my first ever visit it was very hectic, a lot of stands were very similar and I felt that CL could have perhaps made a bit more of an effort in supporting smaller makers. The attention did seem to be on the big guys, but I suppose we all have to start somewhere. Maybe if they could take a leaf out of The Origin lot and highlight newcomers?

Cough cough, ouch very soar throat!

Anyway, I maybe busy for the next few weeks, so I will be popping in only a few times ( I will let you know more soon) but if I dont speak befor Easter, have a super time, lots of family fun and some delicious Simmnel Cake!

Sloe Gin - The Tutorial!

I know, its not sewing but its so worth it! Last October (on my birthday) we went for a beautiful walk on the Sussex Downs to collect sloes. It was probably the best birthday I could have had! See pics here.
Anyway, when we got back, the sloes were washed and pricked, put in jam jars, sugar poured over and topped up with Gin.
5 months later.............

Yummy! The most beautiful Sloe Gin, which will NOT be slow to drink! We had a sneek wee bottle at Christmas. Youv'e got to sample these products, haven't you!?

Its been yet another glorious sunny day here, perfect for a cup of tea and a good read of the latest Country Living - I will be going to the Fair on Friday, maybe Samantha at Plump Pudding will let me take a pic of her stall.

Ta ta!

Busy Bee and Pots!

Stage 2 - match crochet flowers with fabric flowers
(stage 1 was crochet the flowers- see last post)

Stage 3 - match silk flowers - the hardest bit!

Stage 4 - Find buttons and beads to match

Stage 5 - Sew together and enjoy! (said in a 'Sainsburys' advert voice over!)

Then send off in a big box to Samantha at Plump Pudding for her Country Living escapade! Good luck Samantha.

As for pots, well like Rebecca at An Irish Craftworkers Good Life, I too was very excited to recieve in my post MASSIVE and I shout massive box of seed potatoes! I too will be chitting this weekend!

Spring time!

Is it too early, I picked this stem of blossom from our allotment but I can't help feeling that its far too early. Still, it makes a great display and excellent crafty ideas for the future!

Well its full steam ahead on the Country Living Fair. I can't wait to see my corsages on Plump Pudding Stand and to meet Samantha. I wonder if anyone will be wearing those Blogger badges suggested by Polka Dot Pebble? I will keep my eyes peeled!

And when I need to be doing lots of crochet work, I go and try something new! I have been inspired by the Ripple blankets on Yarnstorm blog. Yes I Know its not ripples, but next time!
