I have been transported............

The things mothers do! After weeks of sewing, guilt led to this........
"Mummy, can we go to the garden centre and get a box and make a tardis?"

Me - (said in my head) "ooo, any excuse to go to the garden centre is fine by me!"

" Mummy, can we get a big box so I can go in the tardis?"

Me - "Ok!" (oh, yes, last time we made a small one and he got upset because he didn't fit! I must get this right)

Tada! After a few cuts here and a sla of paint there..............

Back to sewing, a pile of................

.......can you guess, its all the rage at the mo..........

Babushka!

I had it in my head that I must have a go, it was all up there looking good in my head, not sure whether I like the result? They have sold at a couple of fairs but a few people have picked them up and sniffed, expecting lavander. Do I or don't I fill?........

Doing the Open House this year at a different house has been really good fun and opened new doors. A gallery have approached me, wanting to sell my rabbits and crayon wraps. I have met a few fellow bloggers and had bloggers buy from me. Its all inspirational!

I thought that I might list a few bloggers that are new to me but fun to browse, its always fun to see what others are doing, saying, reading, watching, moaning, laughing and recommending about. So go and have a peek and be inspired!

Hi Em,
Glad to hear your open studios went well and that you have made some good contacts.
As for the Babushkas i would stuff them and then just lightly put a little lavender in too to create a squeeze and sniff subtle fragrance thing. nice liberty print... can't wait to see them finished.

Well you certainly must have got super mummy points for that tardis.. it's great.... you haven't got David Tenant hiding in there have you? if you have then please ask your boys if i can come over to play!

I love the Babushkas, filling them with lavender is a nice idea but will add to the cost and therefore put your prices up. Are they too big to use as keyrings?
Loving the tardis, how did you get that box home?

Great tardis. I wonder whether the kids nowadays understand the storylines in the latest Dr Who. I, on more than one occasion I might add, have got to the end of the programme and wondered what an earth it was all about! Lovely russian dolls, I love lavender, but on this occasion I would maybe like to see them without. x

That tardis is even bigger than I imagined! Is it still standing? If you find Mr Tennant has time travelled into your house please send him down the hill, I'll be waiting with a cup of tea! I thought your babushkas were lovely madam!

Oh thanks Emma for popping me on your blog - that's really kind. I looooooove the tardis! My boys haven't discovered Doctor Who yet but I will keep this idea in mind for when they do - brilliant!
And the babushka doll is beautiful, lavender would be a lovely touch. Wish I had some talent for crafts. Anything more than cushion covers is beyond me!
Thanks again and enjoy Midsummer's Day.

Hi! I think I might have forgotten to say thank you for the mention on your blog too - whoops! I will blog a pic of my dress (currently at the bottom of the linen basket waiting a special wash - no kids pants or socks going in with it! - how great is it to finally by a nice posh dress and still be able to bung it in the washing machine!) but I would love to see one of your dress too! Sounds fascinating - when is the big day. Apart from the expense how fab to have a fun thing to plan - have fun - Emma x

Hi, the babushkas are very pretty. I agree with the comments from Ginny at The Four Loft and would just include a little lavender with the filling.
The tardis is wonderful. Bet they love playing in it.
